While brutal force has been used to create Zionist Israel and sustain it thus far, Zionist claims to Palestine are false. Actually, from the five thousand years of known written human history, there has been a continuous Palestinian-Canaanite presence in the Holy Land. Despite the Zionist false claims, the ancient Israelites ruled part of the land for only 85 years (during the reign of Prophets David and Solomon , peace be upon them, and Solomon's son).

After that, the Egyptians conquered Palestine-Canaan in 925 BC, followed by Assyrians, Babylonians, Persians, Greeks, and Romans, before the Arab Muslim rule, starting from 636 AD.

By the Time Jesus, peace be upon him, started his mission, the three population groups of Canaanites, Palestinians, and Israelites were melted together in religion and language. Most of them became Christians when Constantine converted in 313 AD. Then, most of them became Muslims in the 7th and 8th centuries AD.

So, Palestinian Muslims, Christians, and Jews are the ones who have the right to claim descent from ancient Israelites, Palestinians, and Canaanites, not Zionists from other continents.

No matter what the Zionists and their supporters do, they cannot change the will of God, Who promised the Holy Land to Abraham and his descendants, basically the Palestinian Muslims and Christians.

No matter how much persecution and aggression the Zionists and their supporters inflict upon the Palestinian people, they will never be able to force them out of the Holy Land, which Allah, praise to Him, promised for them, and kept His promise ever since.

This is a necessary brief background to understand the US-Backed Zionist Israeli continuous wars against the Arab nation generally, and the Palestinian people in particular, which included the wars of 1948, 1956, 1967, 1978, 1982, the brutal crushing of the two Uprisings (1987-1993 and 2000-2004), 2009, 2012, 2014, 2021, and the current genocidal war on Gaza (Since October 7, 2023), which has culminated a blockade of Gaza since 2007. In addition, the Israeli occupation and apartheid regime launched so many covert operations, raids, and air strikes on many Arab states since 1948.

The following news stories are just examples, not a systematic record, of the Israeli occupation government abuse, mistreatment, and violations of Palestinian human rights, on daily basis.

On Al-Aqsa Flood anniversary, Hamas prioritizes ending genocide in Gaza

Tuesday 7-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

On the second anniversary of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle, the Palestinian Resistance Movement, 'Hamas, reaffirmed that its top priority is an immediate end to the ongoing Israeli genocide and aggression against Gaza, while maintaining its full commitment to the Palestinian people’s national rights and their struggle for liberation and independence.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Hamas official Fawzi Barhoum said the Palestinian people in Gaza have endured two years of “a genocidal war marked by starvation, mass destruction, and ethnic cleansing, the most brutal assault in modern history.”

Barhoum said that Israel had failed to achieve its declared goals, including forced displacement, recovering captives through military means, and installing proxy entities, despite committing systematic massacres against civilians.

He noted that the war has left more than 67,000 Palestinian martyrs, nearly 170,000 wounded, and over 15,000 missing, mostly women and children. At least 500 people, he added, have died of deliberate starvation amid “full US partnership and UN paralysis.”

He emphasized that 95% of the victims were unarmed civilians, calling the atrocities “an eternal stain on the face of the Israeli regime and its enablers.” The resistance, he stressed, remains committed to its legitimate struggle until freedom and independence are achieved.

Barhoum said the Israeli war is not only against Hamas but “an all-out war against Palestinian existence,” aiming to crush the people’s will and erase their cause. He warned that Israel’s expansionist policies threaten the stability and sovereignty of Arab and Muslim nations.

Holding both Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s far-right government and the US administration fully responsible for the crimes in Gaza, Barhoum said the two share “political, legal, and moral accountability for an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe.”

He reiterated that Hamas had shown serious engagement with all ceasefire initiatives, including the latest proposal by US president Donald Trump, based on its national responsibility toward its people.

According to Barhoum, the Hamas delegation currently participating in talks in Egypt seeks to achieve a comprehensive agreement that meets the aspirations of Palestinians in Gaza, emphasizing six key demands:

1-A permanent and comprehensive ceasefire. 2-Full withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from all areas of Gaza. 3-Unrestricted entry of humanitarian and relief aid. 4-Return of displaced residents to their homes. 5-Immediate launch of a full-scale reconstruction process under a national Palestinian technocratic body. 6-A fair prisoner exchange deal.

He warned that Netanyahu is deliberately obstructing the negotiations, as he did in previous rounds, but said Israel has failed to secure any “false image of victory” despite its overwhelming force and US-backed genocide.

Barhoum also honored the memory of the 'Hamas leaders and fighters who were killed in the conflict, including Isma'eel 'Haniyya, Sali'h El-'Aarouri, Ya'hya El-Sinwar, and Mu'hammed El-Dhaif, as well as fighters from Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Jordan, Türkiye, and Qatar whose blood “mingled with that of the Palestinian people on the road to liberating Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.”

Hamas expressed deep gratitude to regional allies and mediators, particularly Qatar, Egypt, and Türkiye, for their continued political and diplomatic efforts, and to resistance allies in Yemen, Lebanon, and Iran for their steadfast support.

Barhoum concluded by calling on all Arab and Muslim nations, and free people around the world, to intensify efforts to support the Palestinian cause and ensure justice for the victims of Israel’s genocidal war.

Tuesday marks the second anniversary of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, carried out by Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas. The operation sent shockwaves through Israel’s security establishment, shattering the image of its intelligence and defense apparatus before the world.

GCHR calls for investigating UN officials’ complicity in Gaza genocide

Tuesday 7-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Gaza Center for Human Rights (GCHR) has expressed deep concern over alarming information published by The New Humanitarian, revealing the alleged complicity of United Nations officials in endorsing Israeli policies aimed at starving and subjugating the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip.

In a statement released Tuesday, the GCHR urged the United Nations to immediately open a serious investigation into these revelations and uphold the principles of transparency and integrity. The report cited by The New Humanitarian points specifically to Suzanna Tkalec, Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator for the United Nations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories, who faces serious accusations from colleagues and humanitarian workers in Gaza. These accusations include enabling Israel to politicize humanitarian aid, weakening coordination efforts, and sidelining UNRWA from its central role in managing and distributing relief.

The GCHR emphasized that testimonies regarding Tkalec’s approval of Israeli interference in aid distribution, her reluctance to challenge restrictions on humanitarian access, and her repetition of Israeli narratives without scrutiny, demand immediate investigation and her suspension to preserve the professionalism and accountability of the mission.

The GCHR warned that these developments cast serious doubt on the impartiality and transparency of humanitarian work in the occupied Palestinian territories. It also highlighted the dangers of politicizing aid and using it as a tool of pressure that serves Israel’s broader strategy of subjugating Palestinians and depriving them of basic life necessities.

It stressed the responsibility of the United Nations and its various agencies to act in proportion to the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza, a crisis it says is the result of a declared Israeli policy constituting part of an ongoing genocide, as recognized by all major international human rights organizations.

The GCHR called on the UN to launch an independent and comprehensive investigation into these allegations, ensure transparent and public accountability, and restore standards of neutrality and integrity in the management of humanitarian assistance.

The Center also called for insulating humanitarian work from political bias and any alignment with the occupying power’s agenda, and reaffirmed the need to re-enable UNRWA to carry out its core mission of providing relief to Palestinians.

The statement concluded by affirming that after more than a year of Israeli aggression, what is happening in Gaza amounts to a full-scale genocide, accompanied by widespread famine and the collapse of the healthcare and humanitarian systems. This, it said, requires urgent international action to halt the disaster, provide relief, and prevent further deterioration.

Finally, the GCHR underscored that acknowledging this grim reality and acting upon its legal and humanitarian implications is no longer a matter of choice, it is a necessity to save what remains of the lives of over two million people facing death from hunger, disease, and bombardment.

UNICEF: Israel’s disproportionate response in Gaza left children suffering in body and mind for too long

NEW YORK, October 7, 2025 (WAFA) -

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) spokesperson, Ricardo Pires, maintained that Israel’s “disproportionate response” in Gaza had left children suffering “in their bodies and minds for way too long.”

The UNICEF spokesperson called on Israel to halt its attacks on Gaza and to establish a ceasefire, warning of the grave consequences of Israel’s repeated refusal to allow humanitarian aid into the Strip.

"For nearly two years now, children have paid the heaviest price in this crisis," he said, stressing that children in Gaza have been exposed to "horrors that no child should ever have to look at or live."

He told a UN press briefing in Geneva that an average of one child has been killed or maimed every 17 minutes, and that many have been traumatized, orphaned, and displaced multiple times — “an unacceptable, staggering figure.”

“They’ve been exposed to disease and violence on a scale unprecedented for Gaza,” he continued. “We’ve been denied permission to bring incubators and ventilators to children from the north. They desperately need that to survive. We’re talking about children sharing oxygen masks in order to stay alive.”

UNICEF says that one in five babies in Gaza is now born prematurely, often to mothers weakened by hunger and stress.

Palestinian Red Crescent: 29 staff members killed in Gaza while performing their duties

GAZA, October 7, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that 29 of its staff members have been killed while performing their duties in the Gaza Strip, under harsh circumstances, since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

In a statement, marking two years since the start of the devastating war, the Society expressed its deep concern and disappointment at the international community's failure to put an end to this humanitarian catastrophe facing Palestinian civilians.

It also affirmed that the occupation directly targeted its staff without any regard for their humanitarian mission or the internationally protected emblem of the Red Crescent. Among those killed were two paramedics assassinated while attempting to rescue five-year-old Hind Rajab and her family in January 2025. In another incident, eight paramedics were killed and buried under the rubble alongside their ambulances in March 2025. The PRCS added that several of its hospitals, medical centers, and other facilities were forced to close after suffering extensive damage from Israeli bombardment and forced evacuation orders.

It also said that the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip has reached shocking levels, with the stench of death filling every corner, and the rubble of destroyed homes, schools, roads, and other civilian infrastructure dominating the landscape.

Humanitarian aid access remains severely restricted, as families struggle to find shelter, food, and clean water.

It emphasized that humanitarian and medical teams, including her volunteers and staff, continue to provide life-saving assistance under the most dangerous conditions, where international humanitarian law is disregarded daily.

It added, "While we face severe shortages of fuel, medicine, and essential supplies, which have hindered the provision of vital medical and humanitarian services to our people in the Gaza Strip, we continue our efforts to reach those in need and those affected in the Gaza Strip."

Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Red Crescent Society, said, "It is time for the world to stop the killing in the Gaza Strip, end this senseless destruction, close this dark chapter in history, and instead ensure that humanity, justice, and dignity prevail in Palestine."

Two years into the genocidal war: Gaza death toll rises to 67,173, injuries to 169,780

GAZA, October 7, 2025 (WAFA) –

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Tuesday that the death toll had risen to 67,173, while the number of injured has reached 169,780, including 20,179 children, 10,427 women, 4,813 elderly people, and 31,754 men.

The Ministry also documented the catastrophic repercussions on Gaza's health system after two years after two years of the ongoing genocide, as follows:

The number of medical personnel martyred reached 1,701, and 362 detainees are being held in conditions of enforced disappearance and detention, deprived of their human rights.

Of the total of 38 hospitals, 25 are out of service, while 13 hospitals are still operating partially and under difficult conditions. The occupation has also destroyed 103 primary healthcare centers, out of a total of 157, while 54 are operating partially.

The interruption of regular medical supplies, the obstruction of their safe access to hospitals, and the increasing number of injuries and deaths have exacerbated the shortage of medicines and medical supplies in vital departments. 55% of medicines, 66% of medical supplies, and 68% of laboratory supplies are currently out of stock.

Hospital bed occupancy rates increased to 225% by the end of last September, compared to the same period last year, reaching 82%. This is a catastrophic rate, given the increasing number of admissions and critical injuries.

The direct targeting of health facilities has destroyed electrical and electromechanical systems. The occupation destroyed 25 of the 35 oxygen generating stations and 61 of the 110 generators. Famine levels in the Gaza Strip have reached critical levels, according to UN classifications, with 460 deaths due to starvation and malnutrition recorded, including 154 children. 51,196 children under the age of five still suffer from severe malnutrition.

The overcrowding of Palestinians in forced assembly areas, falsely labeled "humanitarian," has exacerbated their health and humanitarian conditions, with the lack of basic necessities for life leading to the spread of disease, a lack of clean drinking water sources, and deprivation of food.

The denial of routine and emergency vaccinations has reduced childhood vaccination coverage to 80%. Furthermore, the fourth phase of preventive polio vaccination has been halted, threatening the failure of previous phases as factors for the spread of the disease increase.

4,900 amputation and disability cases require supportive equipment and long-term rehabilitation programs.

The closure of the crossing to the movement of patients and the wounded has prevented 18,000 patients from traveling abroad for treatment, including 5,580 children.

To date, medical personnel in Gaza City continue to fulfill their humanitarian and national duty despite the dangers surrounding them that pose a direct threat to their safety and the safety of the wounded and the wounded.

Israeli genocidal strikes kill journalist Inas Ramadhan and 106 others in Gaza amid ongoing genocide

Tuesday 7-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Israeli occupation forces (IOFs) continued their genocidal assault on the Gaza Strip killing 106 Palestinians in 143 air and artillery strikes over the past 72 hours, including journalist Inas 'Azmi Ramadhan, whose martyrdom brings the number of slain media workers in Gaza to 255 since the beginning of the war.

The Palestinian journalist Inas Ramadhan was martyred on Monday following an Israeli bombardment targeting the Al-Nasr neighborhood in Gaza City. The Palestinian official media confirmed her martyrdom and mourned her as one of its dedicated correspondents.

According to a statement by the Palestinian official media, the killing of Ramadan raises the number of journalists from its network killed since the beginning of the war to 24. Earlier Monday, Al-Nasr neighborhood in western Gaza witnessed heavy shelling and gunfire from the IOFs, targeting civilian homes.

The Palestinian Government Media Office (PGMO) in Gaza said that despite calls for a ceasefire, including calls from US president Donald Trump, the IOF continues its campaign of systematic massacres against civilians.

From dawn on Saturday, October 4, 2025, until late Monday, October 6, 2025, the IOFs carried out 143 air and artillery strikes across densely populated areas of the Strip, killing 106 Palestinians, most of them women and children, including 65 in Gaza City alone.

The PGMO stressed that the relentless bombardment of residential neighborhoods and shelters housing displaced families amounts to an ongoing act of genocide against the Palestinian people. The statement accused the IOFs of deliberately ignoring international appeals to halt the war and of persisting in its policy of mass killings and destruction of vital infrastructure.

Holding Israel fully responsible for the escalating crimes, the PGMO urged the international community and the US administration to take immediate and concrete action to end the aggression and enforce a genuine ceasefire in Gaza.

PCMFD: The tragedy of the missing is one of the cruelest facets of the genocide in Gaza

Tuesday 7-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Center for the Missing and Forcibly Disappeared (PCMFD) has described the plight of those missing and forcibly disappeared in the Gaza Strip as “one of the cruelest facets of the ongoing genocide against the population of the coastal enclave.”

“Thousands of Palestinian families continue to search for their loved ones, whether they are trapped under rubble, lost in mass graves, or held in Israeli prisons, without receiving any reliable information or answers about their whereabouts or fate,” PCMFD said in a report on Tuesday.

PCMFD noted that the number of missing and forcibly disappeared individuals in the Gaza Strip is estimated to be between 8,000 and 9,000 cases, while approximately 5,000 cases have been officially reported so far.

PCMFD affirmed that these figures are only preliminary as ongoing Israeli attacks, frequent telecommunication blackouts, limited access to destroyed areas, and the heavy military presence across many areas continue to obstruct the full documentation of these cases.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza issues urgent plea as Israeli genocide leaves shocking toll

Tuesday 7-October-2025

GAZA, (PIC)

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza has issued an urgent call to save what remains of the health system in the Strip, warning of a deliberate and total collapse of the sector, which it described as a “pillar of human existence” in Gaza, two years after the ongoing Israeli genocide.

In a statement released Tuesday, the ministry said that the situation in Gaza goes far beyond a humanitarian crisis.

It labeled the destruction of the health system as a form of “healthocide,” pointing to the systematic targeting of hospital and medical infrastructure. Most facilities have been reduced to empty concrete shells, lacking the basic capacity to provide diagnostic and therapeutic care.

The Ministry reported that over the past two years, the total number of casualties reached 67,173 martyrs and 169,780 injured, including 20,179 children, 10,427 women, 4,813 elderly, and 31,754 men.

It also documented the martyrdom of 1,701 medical staff and the detention of 362 health workers under forced imprisonment and deprived of basic human rights.

Of 38 hospitals in Gaza, 25 have been rendered non-operational, while only 13 continue to function partially under extremely difficult conditions. Additionally, Israeli attacks destroyed 103 primary healthcare centers out of 157, leaving only 54 centers partially operational.

The ministry also warned that interruptions in regular medical supplies and the obstruction of safe delivery have worsened shortages of medications and medical consumables.

Currently, 55% of essential medicines, 66% of medical consumables, and 68% of laboratory supplies are completely depleted.

Hospital bed occupancy reached 225% by the end of September, compared with 82% in the same period last year, a figure the ministry described as “catastrophic” amid rising numbers of injuries and critical cases.

Direct targeting of health institutions has also destroyed 25 of 35 oxygen production stations and 61 of 110 electrical generators, severely hampering hospitals’ ability to function amid ongoing power outages.

The statement highlighted growing levels of famine in the Strip, reporting 460 deaths from hunger and malnutrition, including 154 children, while 51,196 children under five suffer from severe malnutrition.

Population overcrowding in forced assembly areas has fueled the spread of diseases, contaminated drinking water, and food scarcity. Vaccination coverage for children has dropped to 80% due to vaccine blockades, and the fourth stage of the polio immunization program has been halted.

The Ministry further stated that 4,900 amputees and disabled persons urgently require assistive devices and long-term rehabilitation programs, while the closure of crossings has prevented 18,000 patients, including 5,580 children, from traveling abroad for medical treatment.

Despite the dire circumstances, medical teams in Gaza City continue to fulfill their humanitarian and national duties, risking their lives to provide care.

The Ministry of Health concluded with an urgent appeal to international and humanitarian bodies to intervene immediately, ensure the delivery of medical supplies, maintain essential services, hold Israel accountable for systematically undermining Gaza’s health system, protect patients’ rights, and guarantee the safety of medical and emergency teams.

Palestinian prisoner dies in Israeli custody

Wednesday 7-8-October-2025

AL-KHALIL, (WAFA, PIC)

Palestinian prisoner A'hmed 'Hatim Mu'hammed Khudhairat, 22, from the town of El-Dthahiriya in southern El-Khaleel (Hebron), died on Tuesday after suffering severe medical neglect while held in Israeli detention, the Palestinian Prisoners Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner Society announced in a joint statement.

Khudhairat had been held under administrative detention since May 23, 2024, without charges. During his imprisonment in harsh conditions at El-Naqab (Negev) prison, his health rapidly deteriorated.

He suffered from chronic diabetes and, in recent months, developed scabies, causing severe itching, repeated convulsions, extreme hunger, low blood sugar, and difficulty moving or performing daily tasks.

By the time of his martyrdom, his weight had dropped to approximately 40 kilograms. According to a lawyer who visited him in August, Khudhairat had been unable to get out of bed for two months.

His martyrdom marks the 78th known Palestinian prisoner to die since the start of the ongoing genocide by Israeli occupation forces (IOFs), with hundreds more detainees subjected to enforced disappearance. Since 1967, a total of 315 Palestinian prisoners have been confirmed martyred, according to official prisoner organizations.

The organizations emphasized that the continuing escalation in prisoner deaths reflects the IOF’s deliberate policy of slow killings in detention. Prisoners remain exposed to routine crimes including torture, starvation, sexual and physical assault, medical negligence, the spread of infectious diseases such as scabies, and systematic deprivation of basic human needs.

The Palestinian authorities held the IOFs fully responsible for Khudhairat’s death and called on the international human rights system to take immediate and effective action to hold Israeli leaders accountable for war crimes against Palestinian detainees and civilians.

They demanded international sanctions to isolate Israel and end the exceptional immunity it continues to enjoy from some global powers, which allow it to operate above law and accountability.

As of October 7, 2025, more than 11,100 Palestinians are held in Israeli prisons, including 53 women, 400 children, and 3,577 under administrative detention, according to official Palestinian data.

UN chief says permanent Gaza ceasefire essential to prevent further bloodshed

TUBAS, October 6, 2025 (WAFA) –

A permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is essential to prevent further bloodshed, United Nations Secretary General António Guterres said on Tuesday.

“A permanent ceasefire and a credible political process are essential to prevent further bloodshed and pave the way for peace,” Guterres stated.

He affirmed the UN’s “unwavering” commitment to support peace.

He called for “an end to the hostilities in Gaza, Israel and the region now,” and for not making “civilians pay with their lives and their futures.”

“On this solemn anniversary, let us honour the memory of all the victims by working for the only path forward: a just and lasting peace, in which Israelis, Palestinians, and all the peoples of the region live side by side in security, dignity and mutual respect,” he added.

He described US President Donald Trump’s recent ceasefire proposal as “an opportunity that must be seized to bring this tragic conflict to an end.”

FACTBOX – Genocide in numbers: Israel’s destruction of Gaza

Over 17,000 students, 10,000 women, 20,000 children, 540 aid workers, 254 journalists reported killed

Anadolu, Betul Yilmaz  |07.10.2025 -

Istanbul --

Nearly 90% of Gaza’s population faces acute food insecurity Israeli attacks damage 80 to 90% of structures, 62% of roads, most schools and hospitals, according to governmental, UN figures

After two years of almost nonstop bombardment, Israel’s genocidal war has left the Gaza Strip in ruins, with international organizations and local monitors documenting mass casualties, widespread destruction, famine and the collapse of basic infrastructure.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the Israeli army has killed at least 67,160 people and injured 169,679 others since October 2023.

With a current population of about 2.1 million, more than 10% of Gaza’s residents have been killed or wounded.

Gaza's government media office reported that the number of deaths and missing individuals has reached over 76,600.

Civilians have borne the brunt of the violence. The UN Human Rights Office reported that over six months, from November 2023 to April 2024, nearly 70% of verified victims were women and children.

Since the ceasefire broke down in March, the indiscriminate attacks appear to have intensified. Fifteen out of every 16 Palestinians killed by the army were civilians since then, said the independent global violence monitor Armed Conflict Location & Event Data (ACLED).

In June, the Israeli daily Haaretz cited a pre-print academic study suggesting that official fatality figures may be conservative. Based on direct attacks as well as indirect consequences of the war, the study estimated nearly 100,000 deaths in Gaza.

Famine claiming lives

With about 98% of Gaza’s cropland damaged or inaccessible and Israel blocking most food aid, access to food has been severely restricted.

In late August, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC), a UN-backed monitoring system, officially declared a famine, reporting that more than half a million people were facing catastrophic conditions.

Famine is confirmed when three thresholds are crossed – extreme lack of food, high rates of acute malnutrition and evidence of starvation-related deaths.

The situation has steadily worsened, according to the IPC.

In the first year of the conflict, about 1.84 million people in Gaza faced high levels of acute food insecurity, classified as crisis level or worse. By mid-2025, that number had risen to nearly 1.94 million – around 90% of the population.

At least 460 people have died from starvation, including 154 children, according to Health Ministry figures released on Oct. 6.

Four people died of hunger in 2023 and 49 in 2024. The majority of deaths occurred in 2025, with more than 182 reported since the famine was officially declared.

Children of Gaza

Gaza has one of the youngest populations in the world, and children have been among the worst affected, both physically and mentally.

The Health Ministry said nearly 20,000 children have been killed and more than 42,000 injured, making up over 30% of the death toll.

In two years, an estimated 1,015 babies under one year old were directly killed, according to Gaza's government media office.

Children have also been particularly vulnerable to starvation. They accounted for about one-third of those who died of hunger.

Since late August, at least 39 children have died of starvation – almost one per day.

The Health Ministry said that 51,196 children under five are suffering from severe malnutrition.

UNICEF estimated that 26,000 Gaza children require medical treatment for acute malnutrition. If the situation continues, the agency said 43,400 children will be at severe risk of death from malnutrition by June 2026.

At the same time, more than 56,000 Palestinian children lost one or both parents in the Israeli onslaught as of August, according to UNICEF.

The agency also reported that 1 million children require mental health treatment and psychosocial support to cope with trauma and damage caused by the war.

Women of Gaza

More than 10,100 Palestinian women have been killed and nearly 23,000 injured, according to Health Ministry figures.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the war has taken a severe toll on pregnant and breastfeeding women, with more than 40% severely malnourished.

The Health Ministry reported in early September that 55,000 women are malnourished and 67% are suffering from anemia – the highest rate in years.

According to the UN, 23,000 pregnant women are going without care during delivery, and about 15 babies are being born each week with no medical assistance.

Lives lost on the path to food

Amid the severe food shortage, seeking aid at distribution sites backed by the US and Israel has become perilous.

These militarized supply sites began operating in late May after Israel cut off the entry of food and other goods into Gaza.

Some 2,610 people have been killed and 19,143 injured while trying to obtain food at these sites, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

Some 108 Israeli attacks on food distribution points and centers were recorded, according to the government media office.

Earlier in September, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported 2,256 deaths at the sites, most resulting from live fire.

Humanitarian, health workers

The Israeli army has killed at least 540 aid workers and 1,722 health workers, according to OCHA.

The government media office reported that more than 1,800 humanitarian workers, including health personnel, have been killed. Over 780 police officers and personnel working in aid delivery were killed.

Victims include paramedics, doctors and other locally employed health staff, as well as members of international organizations such as the Red Crescent, Doctors Without Borders and World Central Kitchen.

Journalists' death toll

At least 254 journalists have been killed in Gaza, according to the Gaza government. The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) has reported similar figures.

The first year of the war was the deadliest for media workers, with 175 killed.

At the same time, 50 journalists were detained and 120 media institutions were destroyed, according to the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate.

Athletes and artists

Even those whose jobs tend to be far from the frontlines have been killed in large numbers.

At least 894 athletes have been killed, according to government figures. The Palestinian Football Association reported 776 deaths.

Israeli strikes have also targeted 288 sports centers, causing partial or complete destruction.

At least 45 artists, writers and cultural activists were killed in the first six months of the war, according to the Palestinian Culture Ministry.

PEN International, a London-based writers’ union, confirmed that 41 Palestinian writers and poets died in the first year.

Collapse of Gaza’s healthcare system

The Israeli army carried out 778 attacks on health facilities, damaging 34 hospitals, 91 medical centers and 210 ambulances, according to the WHO.

As a result, more than half of Gaza’s 228 hospitals and primary health care centers went out of service, said OCHA.

Twenty-five of Gaza’s 38 hospitals stopped functioning, while the remaining 13 are partially operating under harsh conditions, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Gaza government, Israel’s targeting of health facilities deprived more than 2 million people of medical services, including 50,000 pregnant women and 12,000 cancer patients in the first year.

Health Ministry figures also showed that more than 400 dialysis patients – about 40% of all such cases in Gaza – died in the first 18 months of conflict.

The WHO has reported that 15,800 patients in critical condition require evacuation abroad. According to the Health Ministry, 5,580 children among 18,000 patients were denied medical evacuation.

Meanwhile, over 83% of people with disabilities in Gaza lack assistive devices such as wheelchairs and hearing aids, according to a UN report in August.

Collapse of education

Two years of attacks have also devastated Gaza’s schools and universities.

UN figures show that 17,237 students, 1,271 university students and 967 educational staff were killed.

According to Gaza’s Education Ministry, more than 25,700 students and 3,100 teachers were injured.

Sixty-three university buildings were also destroyed.

With most education disrupted, nearly 660,000 children remain out of school, according to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, or UNRWA.

OCHA reported that 97% of school buildings were partially or completely damaged.

Religious structures

Religious sites have also been hit.

More than 835 mosques were completely destroyed, over 180 sustained partial damage, while three churches in Gaza have been targeted several times, the government media office said.

According to Gaza’s Endowments Ministry, at least 79% of mosques were destroyed and three churches damaged.

The Israeli army also killed 255 clerics and imams and detained 26, the ministry said.

More than half of Gaza’s 60 cemeteries have also been struck, with 14 completely destroyed and 18 partially damaged.

Destruction of infrastructure

The destruction of infrastructure has also been a trademark of the war.

Nearly 80% of all Gaza’s structures and 62% of the road network have been damaged or destroyed, OCHA reported.

The Gaza government said Israel dropped more than 200,000 tons of explosives, destroying nearly 90% of the enclave and causing losses exceeding $70 billion.

According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), 83% of agricultural wells and 71% of greenhouses were damaged as of April 2025.

Some 725 central water wells were destroyed, government data showed.

Water systems have also collapsed, with 96% of households facing water insecurity, the UN said in July.

Mass displacement campaigns

Almost all of Gaza’s population has been forced to move at some point, many multiple times.

More than 1.9 million people have been displaced, according to OCHA.

Over 80% once lived in areas subject to evacuation orders or heavy bombardment.

More than 90% of homes have been targeted, with 60,000 completely destroyed and 276,000 damaged.

Around 1.4 million people now require emergency shelter and household goods.

In September, Israel ordered residents of Gaza City to leave, displacing more than 200,000, the UN said, while Israeli authorities claimed over 550,000 had departed.

Gaza's government media office said on Sept. 20 that more than 900,000 people remain in Gaza City and northern areas despite evacuation orders and bombardment.

Seventeen displaced people, 14 of them children, froze to death in refugee camps, the office said.

Israel has designated just 12% of Gaza’s territory as “shelter zones” while attempting to confine over 1.7 million people there, it added.

For a Palestinian family to flee, the average cost is nearly $3,200, according to UNRWA.

Unlawful detentions

The Israeli occupation army has detained more than 12,000 Palestinians, with 3,500 still held in prisons, the Prisoners’ Media Office reported in May.

At least 46 people have died in Israeli custody, according to the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society.

The Israeli prison administration has reported 2,662 detainees held without trial or charge under the classification of “unlawful combatants.”

Editorial Notes about terms & names of people and places:

1. Names of people and places have been standardized to match standard Arabic grammatical rules.

2. Underlined letters and letters preceded by an apostrophe are references to Arabic letter sounds, which does not exist in the English alphabet.

3. The English letter i is equivalent to the Arabic short vowel known as kasra, as in Ibraheem and Qasim as well as in the English words sit and bit. So, it is incorrect to use it as a long vowel for such Arabic names as Jameel and Jibreel.

4. The English letter e is equivalent to the Arabi short vowel known as fat'ha, as in A'hmed and Mu'hammed.

5. It is more accurate to refer to the
land-grabbing Israelis, who establish illegal settlements in the Palestinian territory of the West Bank, as illegal Israeli settlers, than referring to them as colonists.

The term colony is a reference to a large entity or a country, such as American states before independence. It was also a reference to Egypt, and India, when they were British colonies.

In addition, the term "colony" represents a positive nostalgic theme, in the minds of native speakers of English, particularly in America and Britain.

6. It is more accurate to use the verbs "abduct" and "kidnap" than the verbs "detain" and "arrest," in reference to taking Palestinian citizens by force to prisons and interrogation centers, by Israeli occupation regime soldiers. This is because the presence of the Israeli occupation regime forces is illegal in the Palestinian territories, and they have no jurisdiction over the Palestinian people.
